“We are so excited to be sharing this Aromatherapy and Reiki Introductory Workshop with our community,” said Amanda Langseder, Community Health Director, Catskill Regional Medical Center. “Participants will learn the many uses and benefits of these ancient teachings, which can be used to promote balancing of the body and overall health.”

Aromatherapy is a holistic treatment that uses medicinal grade therapeutic essential oils that require dilution with a carrier oil prior to application. Essential oils are highly fragrant natural extracts taken from flowers, bark, stems, leaves, roots or other parts of a plant.

Reiki is a complementary healing therapy that, when combined with traditional therapy as prescribed by a physician, promotes relaxation and comfort. Reiki is not a cure. It is a relaxation technique that releases and restores energy flow, allowing the body’s own natural healing ability to work.
