2023 Five Star Awards as listed in text below

Garnet Health Medical Center is five-star rated for treatment of Stroke (2019-2023), Hip Fracture (2023), Sepsis (2019-2023), Pulmonary Embolism (2021-2023), and Respiratory Failure (2019-2023), according to new research released by Healthgrades, the leading marketplace connecting doctors and patients. These five-star ratings reflect Garnet Health Medical Center’s dedication to delivering quality care for Stroke, Hip Fracture, Sepsis, Pulmonary Embolism, and Respiratory Failure, and distinguishes them as one of the nation’s leading hospitals for specialty care.

Healthgrades evaluated patient mortality and complication rates for 31 common conditions and procedures at nearly 4,500 hospitals nationwide to identify the top-performing hospitals for Stroke, Hip Fracture, Sepsis, Pulmonary Embolism, and Respiratory Failure. This year’s analysis revealed significant variation in patient outcomes between five-star hospitals and one-star hospitals. From 2019 through 2021, if all hospitals as a group performed similarly to five-star hospitals, on average, 201,586 lives could potentially have been saved, and 160,498 patients could have avoided potential complications.*

Additionally, from 2019-2021, patients treated for Stroke in hospitals with 5-stars for in-hospital mortality have, on average, a 52.1% lower risk of dying than if they were treated in hospitals with 1-star for in-house mortality.*

“We commend Garnet Health Medical Center for their ongoing commitment to providing high-quality care to patients being treated for Stroke, Hip Fracture, Sepsis, Pulmonary Embolism, and Respiratory Failure,” said Brad Bowman, MD, Chief Medical Officer and Head of Data Science at Healthgrades. “Consumers can feel confident that hospitals with five-star ratings by Healthgrades have demonstrated their ability to deliver consistently exceptional outcomes.”
