2019 event presented by the Sullivan Catskills Visitors Association
Catskill Regional Medical Center announces the 41st Annual 98.3 WSUL Heart-A-Thon presented by the Sullivan Catskills Visitors Association, benefitting Catskill Regional Medical Center’s Cardio-Pulmonary Department. This year’s Heart-A-Thon will take place on Friday, February 22, 2019 from 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. in the Woodland Wildlings Garden Café, located on the Hospital’s ground floor.
The event will broadcast live on WSUL, 98.3/95.7 FM, with pledges to be read aloud on the air. The event will feature guest speakers, guest host segments with community leaders and personalities, information and tips about heart health, and a variety of health care demonstrations.
All proceeds from the 41st Annual 98.3 WSUL Heart-A-Thon presented by the Sullivan Catskills Visitors Association are earmarked exclusively for Hospital use. This year, the funds will help subsidize the purchase of a TeleRehab™ system, an advanced cardiopulmonary rehabilitation telemetry system by VersaCare.
“Catskill Regional Medical Center is committed to building a healthier community and to the fight against heart disease – the number one killer of men and women in the United States,” said CEO Jonathan Schiller. “Every year, the Heart-A-Thon is an important event in our fundraising calendar. The generosity extended to us during this campaign helps us maintain the advanced level of cardiac care we are proud to be able to provide to Sullivan County.”
Dr. Lauren Roman, of Catskill Regional Medical Group, will join the event to discuss cardiac health and representatives of various Sullivan County community organizations will be on hand to present donations they have raised. Listeners will also be able to call in their pledges and express their support. Tribute “heart cards” to honor loved ones who have been afflicted with cardiac-related conditions are available for purchase at multiple retail locations throughout the community.
