Garnet Health Medical Center – Catskills, formerly Catskill Regional Medical Center, is pleased to announce Dr. Leroy Floyd has been named as Chief Medical Officer (CMO). In his new role, Dr. Floyd will oversee all medical care provided at the hospital, and continue to serve as the Medical Director of Hospitalist Services for Garnet Health System and as Vice-President of Medical Staff for Garnet Health Medical Center.

Dr. Floyd has been an essential part of Garnet Health since 2015, when he joined the Garnet Health Doctors Hospitalist service. He has held numerous leadership roles during his tenure, most recently as the Vice Chair of the Department of Medicine and Member-at-Large of the Medical Executive Committee from 2020 to 2021, and Chair of the Garnet Health Doctors Physicians Advisory Council from 2018-2021.

In addition to providing excellent care to patients and leading Garnet Health providers, Dr. Floyd is immersed in academia, teaching as a clinical faculty member in Garnet Health Medical Center’s Internal Medicine Residency program. He is also a current Physician Assistant Preceptor for Touro, NYIT, Clarkson University and PACE University, and the Adjunct Clinical Assistant Professor of Medicine at Touro College of Osteopathic Medicine.

Dr. Floyd is also instrumental in other areas of Garnet Health, serving on numerous professional committees including Physician Advisory, Credentialing, and Pharmacogenomics, as well as the STEMI Committee and Pharmaceutical and Therapeutics Committee.

Prior to joining Garnet Health, he held hospitalist privileges at Englewood Hospital.

Dr. Floyd is Board Certified in Internal Medicine. He received his Doctor of Medicine from Florida State University and completed his Internal Medicine Residency at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey. Dr. Floyd was Chief Medical Resident at Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, New Jersey Medical School-East Orange Veterans Hospital and earned his MBA from the University of Massachusetts and is also a Certified Physician Executive.
