Garnet Health Medical Center has been named Best Regional Hospital in the Poughkeepsie-Newburgh Metropolitan Service Area and high performing in seven types of care for 2021-22 by U.S. News & World Report.

“Garnet Health Medical Center is committed to providing exceptional patient care and these U.S. News & Report recognitions are a testament to what we do every day,” said Garnet Health Medical Center Chief Executive Officer Scott Batulis. “We are proud to receive these honors.”

Garnet Health Medical Center ranked high performance in one specialty, pulmonary and lung surgery, and high performance in six conditions: congestive heart failure, COPD, diabetes, heart attack, kidney failure and stroke.

U.S. News publishes Best Hospitals annually to help guide patients in making informed decisions about where to receive care for a particularly difficult surgery, a challenging condition, or for common elective procedures. Objective measures such as patient survival and safety data, the adequacy of nurse staffing levels and quality of nursing care, and other data largely determined the rankings in most specialties.

For the 2021-2022 rankings, U.S. News & World Report evaluated more than 4,750 medical centers nationwide in 15 specialties and 17 procedures and conditions. To learn more about Garnet Health Medical Center, visit garnethealth.org.
