Community Programs at Garnet Health
At Garnet Health, we are committed to community health work - as we believe that our mission to improve the health of our community goes beyond the clinical services we provide at our facilities. We provide health resources and education to our community in an effort to improve the health of families and support wellness proactively through:
- The promotion of healthy lifestyles
- Educational resources
- Free classes, seminars, support groups and screenings
- Training and disease prevention
We also participate in and sponsor numerous community events including but not limited to health fairs, walks/runs, conferences and other health related efforts.
We partner with the American Red Cross to offer blood drives at Garnet Health Medical Center in Middletown and Garnet Health Medical Center – Catskills in Harris.
Rape Intervention Services & Education (RISE)
The RISE Program – Rape, Intervention, Services & Education of Sullivan County advocates for anyone who is or has been a victim of sexual abuse. RISE is funded by Garnet Health Medical Center – Catskills, as well as grants from the New York State Office of Victims Services (OVS), the New York State Coalition Against Sexual Assault (NYCASA), and the New York State Division of Criminal Justice Services (DCJS).
