About Me

Dr. Galarneau, board-certified in Urology, practices with Garnet Health Doctors in Harris and Middletown, NY. He has been an active member of the Garnet Health Medical Center medical staff since March 2000.

Since 2002, Dr. Galarneau has served in numerous leadership roles at Garnet Health Medical Center. He was Vice-Chair of the Department of Urology from 2002–2004 and Chairman from 2005–2006. He served as Chairman of Staff from 2007–2008 and has held the position of Chief of Staff since January 2009. In 2013, Dr. Galarneau served as Chief Executive Officer and Chief Medical Officer for Garnet Health Medical Center - Catskills and was appointed President of Garnet Health Doctors in 2017.

Under his leadership, Garnet Health Medical Center - Catskills has achieved significant milestones, including the transformation of 50 percent of triple-bedded rooms into private and semi-private accommodations; improvements in employee engagement and patient satisfaction; Stroke Center designation; 5-Star Healthgrades Awards for Stroke and treatment of Myocardial Infarction; and Bariatric Surgery and Oncology Accreditation.

Dr. Galarneau earned a B.S. in Biology from SUNY Binghamton, received his medical degree from New York Medical College, and completed residencies in General Surgery and Urology at Beth Israel Medical Center in New York. He also earned a Master's degree in Medical Management from Carnegie Mellon University.

An active member of the American Urological Association and the Medical Society of Orange and Sullivan County, Dr. Galarneau has received numerous honors throughout his career. His recognitions include the 2015 Walter A. Rhulen Award, the 2015 Triple Crown Garnet Health Quality and Patient Safety Award, recognition in The Sullivan County Democrat's Men At Work special section, the 2016 Sullivan County Chamber of Commerce Distinguished Achievement Award, and recognition by Becker's Hospital Review as one of its 2016 Top 110 Physician Leaders of Hospitals and Health Systems.
