Neurology Residency Program

Garnet Health Medical Center boasts seven floors of state-of-the-art technology and provides 383 beds and employs over 2,400 healthcare professionals. More than 600 doctors have privileges at the hospital and treat thousands of area families, friends, and neighbors. We are a Primary Stroke Center and Heart (STEMI) Center. We utilize EPIC for our electronic health record system. As of 2022, the Neurology Residency Program is an ACGME Initial Accredited program. The Neurology Residency is a four-year categorical program with 12 approved resident positions.
The size of the Neurology Residency Program provides a unique opportunity for a tailored educational plan to meet your individual needs. The faculty, curriculum, resources, diverse patient population, and close partnership with Touro College of Osteopathic Medicine in Middletown provide an ideal environment for residency training. Our goal is for you to maximize your strengths and work on areas of improvement.

Program's Mission Statement
The mission of the Neurology Residency Program at Garnet Health is to provide comprehensive high quality, evidence-based training to bring out the best and brightest future neurologists who are compassionate, empathetic and professional experts in their field to provide exceptional care.
The Program Aims To
- Provide intensive Neuroscience education to increase the clinical skills needed to treat neurological emergencies and all sub-specialties of clinical neurology.
- Advance intellectual growth which supports the dynamic health care needs with scholarly activities, research and basic neurosciences knowledge.
- Enhance training neurologist’s skills as educators of colleagues, community and ancillary staff.
- Promote leadership skills with growth in interpersonal relationships and communication.
- Provide collaborative and collegial environment of training to achieve the above goals.
