MIDDLETOWN/HARRIS, NY (Oct. 2, 2026) — Garnet Health has partnered with the Hudson Valley Cancer Services Program (HVCSP) to offer free breast cancer screenings, including mammograms, to qualified individuals. The screenings will take place on Saturday, Oct. 24, at Garnet Health Medical Center (707 East Main Street, Middletown) and on Wednesday, Oct. 28, at Garnet Health Medical Center – Catskills (68 Harris Bushville Road, Harris). These free screenings include a clinical breast exam, a mammogram, and breast-health education.
Appointments are required and are open to women who are:
- Ages 40 to 65 (those at higher risk may also qualify)
- New York residents living in one of the seven counties served by the HVCSP (Rockland, Orange, Ulster, Sullivan, Dutchess, Putnam and Westchester); and
- Uninsured or underinsured.
Individuals undergoing cancer treatment or receiving coverage through the Medicaid Cancer Treatment Program (MCTP) are not eligible for this screening.
According to the American Cancer Society, one in eight women will develop breast cancer, but when detected early, it can be treated successfully. Garnet Health’s 3D mammography technology can detect breast cancer 40% earlier and more accurately, which is critical to successful treatment. If breast cancer is detected, Garnet Health has a multidisciplinary team ready to work with the patient to personalize a care plan for their needs and medical history.
“Taking a few minutes to prioritize your breast health can make a meaningful difference,” said Garnet Health Community Health Manager Delilah Socci, who is coordinating the free breast cancer screening events. “We want to make screenings accessible and encourage women in our community to take advantage of these free services.”
