MIDDLETOWN and HARRIS, NY (Dec. 3, 2025) -Garnet Health Medical Center and Garnet Health Medical Center - Catskills received a "B" grade from the latest Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grade report, a national independent rating system that evaluates how well hospitals protect patients from errors, injuries, and infections.
Leapfrog releases its Hospital Safety Grades twice a year, assigning hospitals across the country a letter grade from “A” to “F” based on more than 30 evidence-based patient safety measures. These measures include staffing levels, infection prevention, surgical outcomes, safe medication and treatment practices, and the effectiveness of systems designed to identify and address potential safety issues before they affect patients. Data is gathered from Medicare reports, hospital surveys, and other public sources.
“We are proud of the progress reflected in this rating and continue to enhance our safety practices,” said Jonathan Schiller, president and CEO of Garnet Health. “Our teams are committed to ensuring every patient receives the highest standard of care.”
