The inpatient pharmacy services at Garnet Health strive to provide industry leading clinical and drug distribution services. Our patient safety focus is accomplished through a variety of redundant drug use controls and patient monitoring systems. Automation and bar code scanning systems help avoid potential errors and enable pharmacy staff  comprised of Pharmacists, Certified Pharmacy Technicians, Clinical Coordinators, Managers, and Director of Pharmacy, to optimize patient outcomes and improve the health of the community.

The scope of core services includes: 

  • Medication order review and verification via the electronic medical record
  • Medication distribution with storage primarily at the point of care
  • Sterile products preparation
  • Procurement, inventory management, and management of drug shortages
  • Bar Code Medication scanning upon receipt to pharmacy, stocking and at time of administration 
  • Electronic Medication Administration Record (eMAR) 
  • Computerized physician order entry (CPOE)
  • PK/PD medication dosing optimization
  • Medication reconciliation  and patient education
