Visiting Hours at Garnet Health Medical Center – Catskills
Garnet Health recognizes that patients need the support of family and friends while they are in the hospital or visiting for an outpatient appointment or procedure. We welcome visitors and request that you follow our visitation guidelines. Safety measures are in place for our patients, employees, and visitors. Additionally, it is required that all visitors wear hospital-issued masks, provided upon your arrival, the entire time of your visit and that you remain socially distant and practice good hand hygiene often. We appreciate your support and cooperation.

Harris and Callicoon Campuses - Effective May 2, 2022
All inpatient visitors must show proof of COVID-19 vaccination or a proof of a negative COVID PCR or Antigen test from a healthcare facility or lab within 72 hours of the visit. Photographs of home tests will not suffice as proof. Exceptions to this practice will be made for support persons of Obstetric patients, parents of Pediatric patients, End-of-Life patients and patients with special needs/requiring a support person.
Inpatient visitors will be asked to show proof of vaccination or negative COVID PCR or Antigen test at the time they present identification for visitor’s pass.
All forms of vaccination proof including New York State Wallet will be considered.
At our Lobby Main Entrance, a Security Officer will verify that your identification matches your vaccination record or your proof of negative COVID PCR or Antigen Test record.
General Visiting Hours are 11:00 am – 8:00 pm
No more than two (2) visitors per day 18 years or older. Exceptions may be made on a case by case basis. Visitors must remain in patient’s room, properly masked and perform frequent hand hygiene. No overnight visitation is permitted unless approved by administration.
5 East, 2 West, CCU (non-COVID patients) and Callicoon inpatient units: two (2) visitors daily between 11:00 am - 8:00 pm.
Patients who are: COVID+, have COVID-like symptoms or are awaiting COVID test results:
One (1) visitor per day, duration up to 60 minutes. Visitors must adhere to the specific PPE protocol for COVID-19. Any visitation exceptions will be approved by Nursing Leadership or Administration. Virtual visitation is available, please call the unit.
Delivery: One support person, 18 years or older, plus Doula allowed 24/7. OB Post-Partum: Partner allowed 24/7; two visitors per day, 18 years or older, during visiting hours, in addition to support person and Doula.
Emergency Department is open 24/7 and limited to one (1) SUPPORT person per patient, 18 years or older. Two (2) screened support people allowed at bedside for pediatric patients. Support person may be asked to wait until completion of the patient’s initial COVID screening and permitted by exception with nursing leadership approval.
Outpatient areas including Garnet Health Doctors:
One (1) individual will be allowed to accompany a patient and may wait in the waiting area for the patient if social distancing requirements and maximum room capacity allow.
Behavioral Health Unit:
Suspended until further notice
Open 9:00 am – 8:00 pm; visitors must remain masked and socially distant, one (1) visitor at a time.

Hand hygiene must be performed entering and exiting the patient’s room, and before/after handling mask.
Virtual visitation for all patients can be arranged through nursing.
