Garnet Health Medical Center - Catskills was recently recognized by the Liberty, NY Rotary Club for outstanding performance over the past two years of the COVID-19 pandemic. CEO Jonathan Schiller accepted the Rotary Club’s Hummingbird Award on behalf of Garnet Health Medical Center - Catskills at the club’s 7th Annual Hummingbird Award and Paul Harris Fellow Recognition Lunch in Monticello.

The Hummingbird Award recognizes individuals doing their part to make the community, region, and world a better place. Other notable individuals also received the honor including Dan Hart, Bill Bassett, Jannetta MacArthur, Marty Colavito, Gerald Skoda, and Julian Dawson.

“It was truly an honor to represent all of the professionals at Garnet Health Medical Center - Catskills and accept this award,” said Schiller. “Their dedication and commitment to the community during the entire pandemic has been amazing and a true testament of our mission to improve the health of our community by providing exceptional health care.”

The recognition also included written commendations from New York Assemblywoman Aileen Gunther, the Town Board of the Town of Liberty, New York Senator Mike Martucci, and U.S. Representative Antonio Delgado, and special recognition by the Sullivan County Legislature.

Proceeds from the luncheon benefited the Liberty Rotary Club Haiti Clean Water Program, which provides healthy, clean, potable water to thousands of men, women, and children in and around Cap Haitien, Haiti.
