Osteopathic Manipulative Treatment

Osteopathic Manipulative Treatment, or OMT, is a hands-on treatment used by our Family Medicine, specially trained osteopathic physicians (DOs) to help relieve pain, improve mobility, and support the body’s natural function.

During OMT, your physician uses gentle stretching, pressure, resistance, and movement to address areas of the body that may be causing pain or limiting movement.

What Can OMT Help Treat?

OMT may be used as part of your care for:

• Back and neck pain
• Muscle pain or tightness
• Joint pain and stiffness
• Headaches
• Certain mobility concerns

Because OMT can be incorporated into your overall care plan, your provider will consider your symptoms, health history, and individual needs to determine whether it may be appropriate for you.
