Healing Arts Program at Garnet Health

The Healing Arts Program at Garnet Health is designed to support an environment of care for patients, their families, staff and the community. We believe in the beneficial effects of art in a healing setting, and artwork is integrated throughout all spaces -from public hallways, common areas and private patient rooms- to create a sense of well-being and renewal of the body, mind, and spirit.

Art offers unique opportunities to engage the whole person through restorative moments that provide comfort and inspiration. We present the work of local artists to strengthen community ties and to highlight the creative talent of our region. A consistent theme of Garnet Health Medical Center’s art collection is the beauty of the natural world and the Hudson Valley.

Art Collection

Our carefully selected art collection supports Garnet Health Medical Center’s effort to maintain an impeccable, healing environment. We acquire works of art through donations, commissions, and purchases and have a special focus on the work of local and regional artists. The collection includes a variety of art mediums such as drawings, paintings, photographs, prints, sculptures, textiles, and quilts, to fill the hospital with visual interest.
