We understand, there is a life before you found out you had cancer and life after you received your diagnosis. The new life brings with it uncertainty, fear, anger, sadness, and more. But you are not alone. In 2022, nearly 269,000 U.S. men will be diagnosed with prostate cancer.
Even with so many people, you may not know whom to talk to; whom to listen to. Your family and friends may be wonderful, loving, and supportive, but chances are they have not faced what you are facing. They mean well… they just don’t know. Thankfully, there is somewhere to turn for help for both you and your caregiver: support groups.  Support groups are a community of people with a similar diagnosis or challenge who gather together to share knowledge, encouragement, and emotional comfort. PCF has several private, moderated support groups on Facebook for different interests. See support groups listing at the following website: https://www.pcf.org/patient-resources/patient-navigation/support-groups/

Smart Patients

Learn from other patients
We believe patients are the most underutilized resource in healthcare. We've watched patients become experts in their conditions — and we see that their knowledge improves the care they receive. With the right tools, you and other patients can do the same.
Patients often become extraordinarily knowledgeable about their disease. You can, too.

Patientslikeme

https://www.patientslikeme.com/conditions/prostate-ca

Imagine this: a world where people with chronic health conditions get together and share their experiences living with disease. Where newly diagnosed patients can improve their outcomes by connecting with and learning from others who've gone before them. Where researchers learn more about what's working, what's not, and where the gaps are, so that they can develop new and better treatments.

It's already happening at PatientsLikeMe. We're a free website where people can share their health data to track their progress, help others, and change medicine for good
