Patient Navigators for Cancer Treatment
Led by Jayne O'Malley, RN, OCN, our Patient Navigation Program offers an expert support service that provides specially-trained nurses to guide you through your cancer care treatment.
This one-on-one service is provided to ensure your needs are met in a timely manner, your questions are answered and fears and anxiety are addressed with compassion. The program assists you in obtaining the care and information you need, such as:
- Providing health resources and support systems
- Facilitating interaction and communication with healthcare staff and providers
- Streamlining appointments and paperwork
- Identifying and accessing financial services, if necessary
- Decreasing fear and anxiety
- Identifying and utilizing appropriate social services
- Tracking interventions and outcomes
This is a complimentary service; there is no cost to you or your insurance company when you choose us as your provider.

Jayne O’Malley, RN, OCN

Lung Cancer Nurse Navigator
Garnet Health Medical Center’s Head Neck/Lung Cancer Nurse Navigator Jayne O’Malley is a registered nurse with specialized training in Oncology. For over 15 years, Jayne has dedicated her skills and expertise to cancer care.
Working with your physicians, Jayne will help you understand your treatment and recovery, while providing you and your family with educational resources, as well as locate support and additional services available through Garnet Health Medical Center and our community.
Additionally, take comfort in knowing that Jayne has dedicated her career to helping patients with cancer and will support you throughout your cancer experience. Jayne also facilitates our Lung Cancer Support Group.

Sara Sargente, RN, OCN
Head & Neck Cancer Navigator
Gastrointestinal Cancer Navigator
Our Head & Neck and Gastrointestinal Cancer Navigator has worked in Oncology at Garnet Health Medical Center since 2005, first in Infusion and then on the inpatient unit. Most recently, she worked in Radiation Oncology for the past four years. Sara is a tireless advocate for her patients and has received several grateful patient recognitions. Sara also facilitates our Oral, Head & Neck Cancer Support Group.

Paula Pope, RN
Breast Cancer Navigator
As Breast Patient Navigator and a breast cancer survivor, Ms. Pope is an advocate, educator, cheerleader and supporter of breast cancer patients and their care.
Ms. Pope began her medical career in 2013 as a Pediatric nurse and held the position of Oncology nurse for almost 3 years before joining Garnet Health Medical Center in 2017 in the Emergency Department and later in the Labor and Delivery Unit. She obtained her Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing from Felician University in New Jersey.
