Garnet Health welcomes the support of family and friends during hospital stays and outpatient visits. Please review the visitation hours and guidelines below before arriving.

We provide equal visitation access to all, without regard to race, ethnicity, language, national origin, socioeconomic status, ability, religion, sex, sexual orientation, or gender identity or expression.

Please note: Photography, audio, and video recording are not permitted on campus due to patient privacy laws.

Virtual Visits: Video visits can be arranged to help patients stay connected. Please speak with your nurse or contact the Patient Experience and Advocacy department to schedule.

Middletown CampusEffective April 28, 2026

  • If you have symptoms of COVID-19, flu, RSV, or positive tests for any respiratory illness and/or exposure within the past 10 days, you are not allowed to visit today for the safety of our patients and staff.
  • No latex products, including latex balloons, are permitted to be brought in by visitors. This is to reduce the risk of latex exposure and allergic reactions in patients and employees.
  • Due to patient privacy laws, photography, audio recording, and video recording are strictly prohibited on campus.

7 Days a week

Inpatient Units

9:00 am – 8:00 pm
Two (2) visitors at a time (12 years and older)

Intensive Care Units (ICUs)

9:00am - 11:00am: One (1) visitor
11:00am - 8:00pm: Two visitors (2)
Exceptions may be made by Leadership. 
3West (POD1-3101-3110) 16 years and older.

2 East

Monday, Wednesday, and Saturdays (9am - 11am). 
By Appointment only - Call 845-333-2261
No outside food or drinks allowed during visit. 
Two sets of clothing per patient allowed (Must be dropped off at the Emergency Department entrance).

Rowley Family Birthing Center - OB Delivery (6 South) - Before delivery

Two (2) support persons and a Doula (pre-arranged) allowed 24/7 for active labor patients.

Rowley Family Birthing Center - OB Post-Partum (6 North) - After delivery

One (1) support person allowed 24/7. 
Two (2) visitors at a time 18 years and older. 
Sibling visitation: 2 yrs and older. Duration of siblings visit not to exceed one hour, or at the discretion of RFBC Nursing Leadership.

Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU)

Visitation is open to parents, grandparents, and up to 2 additional adults over 18. Additionally, siblings age 3 and above may visit on Wednesdays and Sundays for up to 1 hour. Documentation of current vaccines must be provided at their initial visit. Adult visitors must be accompanied by a parent. Only 2 visitors at a time are
allowed at the bedside.

Emergency Department (Outpatient Service)

One (1) support person/visitor per patient. 
For patients in double rooms, visitors will alternate. 
Pediatric patients - Up to two (2) parents/support persons allowed.

Outpatient Services, Cancer Center, Garnet Health Doctors & Urgent Care

Two (2) support persons per patient (12 years and older) allowed per patient to wait in waiting area. 
Only one (1)  support person may accompany the patient to "holding area". 

COVID-positive and Exposure Patients

Visitors must adhere to the specific PPE protocol for COVID-19. Virtual visitation is also available. Please call the unit.

Food Services

GHMC Cafeteria (Main hospital, Ground Floor): Open to Visitors each day 8am-9pm

Shabbos Room is Open

Harris and Callicoon Campuses - Effective April 27, 2026

Critical Care Unit (CCU)

9:00am  - 11:00am - One (1) visitor
11:00am - 8:00pm - Two (2) visitors. 
Exceptions can be made by Leadership.

Birthing Center - OB Labor(before delivery)

Two (2) support persons and a Doula (pre-arranged) are allowed 24/7  for labor patients.

Birthing Center - OB Post-Partum (after delivery)

One (1) support person allowed 24/7.
Two (2) visitors at a time (18 years and older).

Emergency Department (Outpatient Service)

One (1) support person/visitor per patient
For patients in double rooms, visitors will alternate

Pediatric Patients
Up to two (2) parents/support persons allowed

BHU Pediatric patients
Two parents or guardians allowed. No additional visitors without prior management approval. 

BHU Adult patients
One (1) support person allowed in the am and one (1) in the pm for one-hour visits. Exceptions may be made on a case by case basis.

No food/drink/belongings are allowed to be brought in for any BHU patient.

Behavioral Health Unit (BHU)

Visitation by appointment only on Monday, Wednesday and Saturday from 9:00am-11:00am. Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday 6:00pm-7:00pm. To schedule an appointment, call (845) 794-3300 ext. 2809 or 2810. No outside food, drink, or belongings are allowed to be brought in for any BHU patient.

Outpatient Services

Two (2) support persons are allowed per patient to wait in the waiting area. Only one (1) support person may accompany the patient to the "holding area". Exceptions can be made on a case-by-case basis.

COVID Positive and Exposure Patients

Visitors must adhere to the specific Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) protocol for COVID-19. Virtual visitation is available; please call the unit.

Food Services

  • Harris Campus (Woodland Garden Cafeteria): 8:00 am - 2:00 pm, Monday - Friday (Saturday and Sunday - Closed)
  • Callicoon Cafeteria: 8:00 am - 1:00 pm, Monday - Sunday
