Our microbiology laboratory has the latest technology, including rapid DNA probe (PCR) testing for detecting and identifying the micro-organisms that may cause an infection. Our technologists run sophisticated tests to determine which antibiotics are appropriate to treat infections based on sensitivity patterns. We routinely screen our patients for resistant pathogens such as MRSA.
Our state-of-the-art chemistry laboratory provides blood and urine testing. Among the tests that your health care provider may request are lipid levels, electrolytes, blood sugar, indicators of heart disease, drug levels, tumor markers, fertility testing, hormone levels and hemoglobin A1C. With two new analyzers, the laboratory can quickly provide test results to physicians to aid in the diagnosis and treatment of patients with suspected heart attacks, high cholesterol, drug overdoses, infertility, thyroid disorders, rheumatoid arthritis, cancers and other diseases.
Our hematology laboratory has state-of-the-art equipment that can perform hematological evaluations, coagulation studies used in diagnosis, treatment and monitoring of medication, and urine testing for urinary tract functions.
Our AABB-accredited Blood Bank offers blood typing, antibody screening, crossmatch, titer and prenatal services. We also sponsor a monthly donor drive in conjunction with the American Red Cross. Our donor recruitment efforts have received national recognition.
